The Sarah Lawrence College Joan H. Marks Graduate Program in Human Genetics seeks a half time Associate Program Director of Professional Development. The Sarah Lawrence Human Genetics Program is the nation’s first program in genetic counseling and has trained more than a quarter of the country’s genetic counselors. Characterized by innovation at the nexus of health, science, and society, this world-renowned program prepares students for careers educating not only patients, but also doctors, other health professionals, and the public at large.

Essential Duties Summary

The Associate Program Director of Professional Development is primarily responsible for developing programs that facilitate ongoing professional growth, life long learning and clinical competency of the Program’s education and training network.

The Associate Program Director is also responsible for working with the leadership team in the planning, developing and monitoring of aspects of the curriculum that support the development of practice based competencies in students. Responsibilities also include mentoring student research projects and participating in the admissions process.

Required Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include board certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC), and a Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling. Prior teaching, knowledge of professional development, and administrative experiences are necessary.
